The Östra Bio RAW is made of 90% bio-based material and all that without sacrificing functionality and performance. With a strap woven from hemp and a frame which is corn-based, they outperform conventional materials. To this end, all bioplastic details are are obtained from 100% castor oil and the entire process also eliminates dyeing to avoid contact with hazardous solvents and chemicals.
Innovations for winter 21/22
Spektrum is launching high-performance polarized bio-based lenses called BIOptic for this winter, a first in the industry – an innovative 3-layer construction made from 75% biodegradable cellulose. The Östra Bio RAW is also equipped with the BIOptic lenses to ensure maximum quality.
“This is the most sustainable eyewear ever made. It is made of 90% bio-based materials, and we see it as the new benchmark for sustainable eyewear. With our ISPO Gold in Munich 2020, we knew we were on the right track. With the BIOptic lens and our RAW concept, we have reached another checkpoint on our journey,” says CEO, Andreas Nilemo.
